Job Description
IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a Sustainability Coordinator to join our growing, energetic, and passionate sustainability team, helping lead the charge driving sustainability.
The Sustainability Coordinator will be responsible for ideating, leading, and implementing sustainability initiatives within the framework of the organization's sustainability program. This role focuses on reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and promoting sustainable practices across the organization, and its value chain.

When You Join Us, You Will;
• Source and manage data related to sustainability, including carbon, energy, waste, and water.
• Monitor and report on key sustainability metrics to ensure transparency and progress toward goals.
• Perform and summarize internal sustainability audits related to energy, waste, water and resource use to identify areas for improvement.
• Design, implement and monitor sustainability initiatives, including projects to reduce carbon, energy, waste, and water use.
• Collaborate with R&D to integrate sustainable design and lifecycle management practices to reduce environmental impact.
• Prepare reports summarizing environmental issues and deficiencies and associated corrective and preventative measures.
• Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and industry standards.
• Prepare and submit sustainability reports and documentation as required by senior leadership, regulatory agencies and customers.
• Create and conduct training and awareness programs within IKO.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align and promote shared sustainability goals.
• Support in implementing strategic sustainability initiatives.
• Research new sustainability technologies and methodologies to enhance IKO operations.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and management teams to integrate sustainability practices into daily operations, providing expertise related to sustainability.
• Identify and advocate for funding opportunities to support sustainability projects and technologies.
Our Ideal Candidate
• Post-secondary degree preferably in Environmental, Sustainability or in a related field.
• 1-3 years’ experience in sustainability, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Willingness to travel (10-15%), including travel to the US.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle.
• Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency with sustainability reporting, data analysis, and relevant software tools.
• Prior experience with carbon accounting and the GHG Protocol
• Prior experience with waste management, water conservation, and sustainable resource management is an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in a high demand, fast-paced environment
