Job Description
Sustainability Coordinator
Northampton
Monday – Friday
£30-40k per annum DOE

Our well-established client a nationwide large contractor, are looking for a forward-thinking individual to join their team, with the overall target to contribute to their plan of achieving their carbon zero targets. Your focus will be measuring and recording their operational carbon footprint working closely with external suppliers.
Responsibilities
• Measuring and recording operational carbon footprint - Scopes 1&2,3
• Coordinating Green Supply Chain, operational carbon footprint data – Scopes 1,2&3
• Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting / Energy Saving Opportunity Support data
collection
• Coordinating operational reporting requirements and reviewing actions needed for year ahead
• Ensuring carbon factors are up to date in line with DEFRA/ BEIS
• Assisting with development of operational reporting processes
• Liaising with internal teams during data collection process and analysing data
• Liaising with external suppliers to capture relevant data and analyse
• Liaising with the supply chain to collect scope 3 GHG emissions
• Understanding GHG protocol and working within the guidelines
• Ensuring reviewing and keeping up to date with the latest published data and guidelines from BEIS / Government / other relevant bodies
• Ensuring the use of appropriate evidence for reporting and to maintain accurate data
• Ensuring data quality for carbon reporting
• Generating innovative ideas to help reduce carbon emissions in the industry
• Liaising with other departments to improve the collection, input and reporting of
Sustainability and Net Zero data
• Supporting target to achieve its carbon-zero targets by 2025
• Staying up to date with new technology, innovations and best practice in the industry to acceleration the client’s sustainability journey
• Delivering Sustainability inductions to new starters
• General Sustainability / NZ / ESG support
• Acting as a Sustainability / NZ champion within the business
Skills / Competencies Required
• Understanding of the principles of Sustainability and Net Zero
• Understanding of Net Zero frameworks
• Understand GHG emission reporting – Scope 1,2 &3
• Excel level 3 required
• Analytical skills required / understanding of creating formulas
• Workload prioritising to meet deadlines
• Initiative
• Data / statistical analysis / reporting
• Attention to detail / accuracy
• Proofing / editing
• Business priorities / initiatives awareness
• Supplier engagement
• Projects / site engagement
• Sector / project intel / awareness
• Sign-off procedures followed

Experience / Qualifications
• Have a passion for sustainability and a drive to reduce carbon emissions
• Demonstrable knowledge of the construction industry or experience in a similar field is highly desirable
• Work with accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively
• Analytical and critical thinking skills
• Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including
Microsoft Excel and Word
• Knowledge of PDF editing software (i.e., Adobe / Bluebeam) and/or computer aided
modelling software (i.e., CAD / Revit) would be desirable
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Desire to learn and continuously develop, with an ability to challenge established
processes and policies, identifying more effective solutions
• Ability to build relationships and work well with a variety of stakeholders
• Demonstrate a high level of teamwork, discipline, and enthusiasm
