We are a leading renewable fuel production company with a team of approximately 200 dedicated professionals working across four ethanol facilities in South Dakota. Job Summary
As the Sustainability Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for analyzing, reporting, and ensuring compliance with key regulations impacting the renewable fuels industry. Your focus will be on carbon emissions reduction mandates, tax incentive programs, and cap-and-trade programs. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, and external stakeholders to ensure GLE’s compliance with evolving regulations and provide strategic recommendations on potential impacts.

Key Responsibilities
• Analyze and ensure compliance with regulations affecting the renewable fuels industry, especially carbon emissions reduction, tax incentives, and cap-and-trade programs.
• Develop and submit required reports and registrations to government agencies and regulatory bodies.
• Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including product, supply chain, and marketing, to gather data and complete necessary certifications.
• Provide regulatory insights and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Communicate updates on regulatory developments to stakeholders, ensuring GLE stays well-informed on relevant carbon-related programs.
• Contribute to sustainability and compliance initiatives that align with GLE’s overall objectives and values.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years in a compliance role within the oil & gas, ethanol, or renewable fuels industry is preferred.
• Strong understanding of renewable fuels programs, including carbon emissions reduction mandates, tax incentives, and cap-and-trade programs (e.g., EPA, DOE, CARB, CFR).
• Proficiency in renewable fuels reporting frameworks such as GREET, ISCC, and EU RED is a plus.
• Experience managing compliance audits, projects, and initiatives, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex regulatory topics to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with sustainability reporting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve results.
