Job Description

Axelon Services Corporation is seeking a Sustainability Assistant for a 6-8 month hybrid contract role in Brunswick, ME. The position involves managing sustainability initiatives, including achieving TRUE zero waste certification at two locations and supporting social impact strategies. Candidates must be willing to commute to both sites and work on-site 2-3 days a week. A bachelor's degree is required, and the role entails project management and data analysis.

Both locations in Sanford and Kennebunk

Monday – Friday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
30-40 hours a week

Hybrid role (2-3 days a week onsite)

The manager will discuss in the interview regarding their expectation around what days or week they will be needed at the site.

Job Description:

We are looking for a 6-8 month professional to manage and help complete the sustainability efforts, including:
• TRUE zero waste certification at the Sanford manufacturing site
• Kickstart the certification process at the Kennebunk office
• Support the organizations social impact and sustainability strategies
• Project management working with multiple stakeholders
• Support other sustainability projects as needed

TRUE Zero Waste Certification : As part of our work to address climate change we have committed to Achieving TRUE Zero Waste certifications at our Sanford manufacturing facility and our Kennebunk office. The successful candidate will help build out remaining steps needed in the site's plans to hit this target and continue to reduce waste and divert waste sent to landfill recycling, reuse, or composting facilities. This involves support certification logistics, and identifying opportunities to progress zero waste efforts

LEED certification assessment:
• Analyze and upload utility bills and waste data
• Support field sampling and employee surveying
• Enter data and review in ARc database
• Help provide recommendations on certification elements
• Carbon and footprint analysis data collection
• Goodness Report data collection

Minimum Education Require d: Bachelor’s degree or higher, open to someone currently obtaining a bachelors
