Job Description

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is hiring a Sustainability Analyst Assistant to support tracking recycling and waste metrics during the festival from April 28 to May 7. Responsibilities include data entry, assisting Cleanup Zone Captains, and potentially taking over their duties. Candidates should have time management skills, be comfortable in fast-paced environments, and be able to work outdoors for long hours. Pay is $15/hour.

April 28,29,30 && May 4,5,6,7

POSITION SUMMARY: The Sustainability Analyst Assistant (SAA) is responsible for assisting the Sustainability Analyst and Cleanup Zone Captains (CZCs) in tracking the festival’s recycling and waste diversion metrics. The SAA will be responsible for inputting and tracking data for recyclable materials weighed at the Festival.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Input data into a spreadsheet to track the metrics for the different recyclable materials.
• Assist CZC in ensuring data is accurately captured.
• In the event that a CZC cannot perform their duty, the SAA will be responsible for taking over the responsibilities of the CZC for their designated zone.
• Perform all other work-related duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the HR Office.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
• Must attend and complete any required training.
• Any document, computer program, design or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival belongs to the Jazz Festival and must be given to the Festival through your supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
• Must complete all required Feedback Forms and Final reports

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
• Time management skills.
• Comfortable working in fast paced and high stress workplace.
• Passion for the environment and recycling preferred.
• Computer literate, including experience with Excel, Google Spreadsheets and Docs.
• May require sorting recyclable materials by hand, by type (aluminum, plastic).
• Able to work outdoors for 10-12 hours a day during festival days (April 28-30, May 4-7).
• Able to lift full bags of recyclable materials (up to 40 pounds)

Pay: $15/hour
