Job Description

GBT Travel Services UK is hiring a Sustainability Analyst in Massachusetts to develop and manage a global sustainability program. Responsibilities include implementing sustainability goals, creating communication materials, supporting product development, conducting research on decarbonization, and maintaining environmental certifications. Candidates should have over 2 years of experience in corporate sustainability or related fields, with strong organizational and communication skills.
About the position

The Global Sustainability Analyst will report to the Global Head of Sustainability. The Global Sustainability Analyst will be responsible for strategically developing and running a global sustainability program.

Responsibilities
• Support the development of an industry-leading global program that is crafted to evolve with emergent trends in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) space, avoid risk and capitalize on opportunities.

• Help implement the sustainability goals of the enterprise to achieve stated targets (e.g., science-based targets initiative (SBTi), net zero, renewable energy, EV100, carbon compensation).
,
• Build collateral and materials that clearly communicate program strategy, goals and metrics to all levels of the organization.
,
• Help to establish Amex GBT as the expert and efficient marketplace for more sustainable business travel. Be customer focused.
,
• Support the creation and monetization of sustainability-focused products and services. Demonstrate to our clients and industry partners our leading sustainability program with end-to-end solutions, strategic partnerships, technological advancements, and constant innovation.

• Synthesize and translate sustainability trends, developments and scientific research into actionable advice for the business. Empower the sales team with a sustainability playbook.
,
• Industry wide, support the development of thought leadership that drives the travel sector towards net zero with advocacy and lobbying.
,
• Conduct research and provide subject matter expertise regarding decarbonization solutions such as sustainable aviation fuels.
,
• Help to create a Green Forum that connects sustainability-focused business partners through expert commercial engagement and supply chain management.

• Maintain environmental accreditations and certificates, regulatory reporting and filings, including without limitation: Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP); Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD); Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB); UK Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) Regulations; ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System); United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs); Global Reporting Initiative (GRI); EcoVadis, and additional legal requirements (e.g., US SEC, EU CSRD, and more).

• Embed sustainability into all aspects of the business. Provide subject matter expertise and function as a trusted adviser to key internal partners including: Technology for product development; Commercial for sales enablement; Consulting for sustainability guidance; Procurement for supply chain management; Real Estate for operational efficiency; Human Resources for employee engagement.

• Cultivate the development of a culture that transforms every GBT employee into an environmental ambassador promoting sustainability throughout the travel industry and establishing GBT as a leader in this space.

Requirements
• +2 years of work experience preferably in a related field, e.g., corporate sustainability, aviation, travel.
,
• Advanced degree preferred.
,
• High attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
,
• Demonstrated ability to execute results on several sophisticated projects at the same time.
,
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills required, including written and verbal presentation skills.
,
• Experience or exposure of sustainability reporting schemes and frameworks, e.g., CDP, EcoVadis, SBTi, TCFD.
,
• Experience or good understanding of GHG accounting.
,
• Experience or good understanding of aviation decarbonization, e.g., Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
,
• Experience with implementing decarbonization solutions, e.g., carbon offsets, carbon insets, electric vehicles, renewable energy.
