Job Description
Octopus Energy is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst in the UK to analyze data and provide insights for operational improvements. The role involves collaborating with teams to enhance performance, developing dashboards, and using statistical techniques for forecasting. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, experience with data manipulation in Python and SQL, and a passion for sustainability. The position is full-time and supports a diverse and inclusive workplace.

As a Supply Chain Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving our business forward by analysing and interpreting information to provide insights and recommendations for our operations. You will work closely with our supply chain, commercial and operations teams to provide data-driven insights that inform business decisions and improve our competitiveness and scalability.
What You'll Do
- Analyse and interpret data to track and improve commercial and operational performance
- Develop and maintain inventory data integrity, dashboards, reports, and visualisations that enable operations to quickly understand complex information and make informed decisions.
- Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to identify opportunities for growth, optimisation and better service delivery.
- Use statistical analysis and modelling techniques to forecast and project business performance.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and support as required.
What You'll Have
- Strong analytical skills, commercial interest, and the ability to distinguish between what matters and what doesn’t.
- An interest in storytelling with data, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A passion for sustainability and the drive to make a positive impact on the world.
- Comfortable manipulating and analysing data in a scripting language (ideally Python)
- Proficient in writing robust, performant SQL queries
- Ability to build models in Python and Excel to inform business decisions
Optional but desirable:
- Experience building data pipelines in dbt
- Experience collaborating on codebases using Git and Github
- Experience in Bl tools such as Tableau
