Green Event Ninjas Inc. is seeking a Supervisor Ninja for the RBC Canadian Open in Caledon, ON. This role involves leading a team to promote sustainable practices at events, including waste management and recycling. Responsibilities include event setup, supervising Recycling Ninjas, and ensuring effective communication with the management team. Candidates should be eco-conscious, reliable, and physically capable of handling demanding tasks. The position is on-site from June 4 to June 8.
About Green Event Ninjas

At Green Event Ninjas, we do not plan events, but rather we help those that do, do so in a more sustainable manner. In other words, we work alongside event producers, planners and suppliers (venues, caterers, etc.) to help them get the most value out of their operations and events by looking at the issues they’re facing through a sustainability lens.

We deliver on this by offering our sustainable event management consulting services, in general, and furthermore by offering specialized services targeting key impact areas, like our green event cleaning and waste management services, event carbon footprints, and event sustainability standards compliance.

Who We Are Looking For:

Green Event Ninjas is seeking an eco-conscious and passionate individual to join our team in the role of Supervisor Ninja. In this position, you will play a vital role in providing leadership and supervision to our Recycling Ninja’s. Actively engage in hands-on support for our green initiatives, working closely on-event with our team and clients to promote sustainable practices, divert waste, and ensure the successful execution of environmentally friendly events.

Role Responsibilities:
• Supporting the team with event load-in and setup.
• Completion of assigned tasks in a timely fashion.
• Actively engaged in and performing physically demanding tasks.
• Demonstrate strong skills in time management, effective communication, and task prioritization.
• Supervise and support Recycling Ninjas in waste clearance within the venue and designated vending areas during the event.
• Monitoring of break times for Recycling Ninjas and self.
• Overseeing and supporting with hand-sorting the recycling and other waste streams to maximize the event’s total waste diversion from landfill.
• Maintain seamless and constant communication with all necessary members of the management team.
• Supporting the team with event tear down and load-out.

• June 4 - June 8
• TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (Alton, ON)
• Day & Night Shifts Available

Hard Working: You are not afraid to get your hands dirty and do some heavy lifting (up to 50lbs)! You are also able to meet requirements of the role such as bending, prolonged periods of standing, and consolidating and handling large bags of recycling and refuse.

Team Player: You are collaborative, enjoy working with others, and are willing to support your team however you can to ensure that the job gets done!

Outdoor Enthusiast: You enjoy working in the outdoors and are able to work in all conditions, rain or shine!

Additional Qualifications:
• Minimum high-school diploma
• Previous experience leading and/or supervising a team
• Previous experience working in the events industry an asset but not mandatory
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay: $22.50 per hour

Schedule:
• 12 hour shift
• Day shift
• Night shift

Ability to commute/relocate:
• Caledon, ON (L7K): reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 2025-06-04
