Job Description

Environment Georgia is hiring full-time canvassers and field managers for summer positions to protect the Okefenokee swamp from a proposed titanium mine. Responsibilities include educating the public, raising funds, and developing advocacy skills. The role offers a pay range of $15 to $25 per hour with opportunities for bonuses, benefits like health insurance, and paid time off. This position requires in-person work in Atlanta, GA.
This summer, work to protect the Okefenokee swamp in our canvassing and field manager positions.

The Okefenokee is amazing! It is the largest national wildlife refuge east of the Mississippi River and home to an amazing array of plants and animals. But a proposed titanium mine threatens all of that. So we’re calling on Governor Kemp to protect the Okefenokee.

In order to protect our swampland,, we are hiring canvassers and field managers to educate the public about the issue, raise critical funds, and generate the visibility necessary to influence decision-makers.

As a canvasser this summer you will:
• Educate and engage citizens on a campaign to make real change on pressing environmental and public interest issues
• Develop essential communication and political advocacy skills
• Build membership and raise money for nonprofit groups in your community
• Earn leadership opportunities, supervising and managing staff in the field
• Gain the experience and connections needed to launch your career in nonprofit and policy work

Pay: Staff earn a base pay between $15 and $25, plus staff can earn 20% of what they raise over our minimum standard, which means staff have the opportunity to earn over $20 per hour. Staff never earn less than minimum wage for the hours that they work. So, depending on performance, you could earn an average of between $15 to $30 per hour.

Pay: Average of $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
