Job Description:

The Crop Biotechnology Lab at the University of Florida seeks highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to support research in plant growth facilities and/or field experiments. Essential skills include multitasking, time management, teamwork, and a willingness to learn new skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Transfer tissue culture-derived plants to soil
• Monitor irrigation, fertilization, and temperature control in greenhouses
• Conduct plant propagation, pasteurization of soil, and devitalization of plants by autoclaving
• Monitor pests and diseases in greenhouses and fields
• Plant or harvest plots or greenhouse trials
• Process samples and record data
• Collect and handle samples from greenhouse- or field-grown plants
• Order supplies and monitor compliance with biosafety regulations
