About the position

The Strategic Procurement Specialist for Renewable Energy at New Jersey Resources plays a crucial role in supporting commercial procurement strategies and executing negotiations for solar power generation equipment and services. This position is integral to the Clean Energy Ventures' development and operational activities, focusing on establishing supplier relationships, conducting sourcing processes, and ensuring adherence to procurement policies while promoting supplier diversity.

Responsibilities
• Establish and cultivate strategic relationships with suppliers, consultants, and contractors for renewable energy projects.

• Track supply chain requirements and conduct sourcing and competitive bidding processes.
,
• Negotiate agreements for critical power generation equipment and materials.
,
• Collaborate with technical procurement, engineering, construction, and operations teams to analyze procurement options.
,
• Maintain knowledge of current market conditions affecting cost, lead time, and supply availability.
,
• Negotiate and administer renewable energy Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts.
,
• Promote adherence to Procurement policies and recommend modifications as needed.
,
• Contribute to continuous improvement in reporting, vendor management, and procurement processes.
,
• Assist with systems and tools required for Procurement activities, including purchasing and contract management.
,
• Ensure supplier diversity considerations are included in sourcing planning.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, engineering, or equivalent work experience/training.
,
• 5 or more years of relevant experience with a proven track record of achievement.
,
• Experience with solar/renewable energy equipment and renewable energy EPC contracts.
,
• Ability to read and interpret design, development, and construction documents, specifications, and bids.
,
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
,
• Working knowledge of materials and inventory management, logistics, quality assurance, quality control, maintenance, and operations.
,
• Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP Procurement and IBM Maximo Inventory Management systems is a plus.
