Safran Aircraft Engines designs, produces, and sells, alone or in partnership, commercial and military aircraft engines offering world-class performance. Through CFM International*, Safran Aircraft Engines is the world's leading supplier of engines for single-aisle mainline commercial jets. Safran Aerospace Composites in Rochester, NH is dedicated to the production of 3D woven composite parts, made using the RTM (resin transfer molding) process. The first application of this technology is the production of blades and fan cases for the LEAP (registered trademark) engine, developed by CFM International, designed to power the next generation of single-aisle aircraft. This technology creates less noise and decreases fuel consumption for aircraft engines, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Position Summary:
The Strategic Buyer is responsible for purchasing activities relating to our entire facility. This encompasses manufacturing materials, services, and inventory control for assigned products and materials. The position is accountable for the purchasing policy, supplier performance and link between requestor and central purchasing
This is a first shift position, Monday-Thursday, 7am-5pm

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
• *Coordinates & expedites the placement of requisitions, purchase orders, and delivery of material (in line with company inventory policy) and services in support of the entire facility
• *Responsible for the supplier performance management
• *Interfaces with global suppliers as well as our production, engineering, management, and quality departments daily
• *Ensures data accuracy and maintenance of parts in ERP system, including lead times, lot sizes, pricing, safety stock level, and other operating features
• Manages relationship with Central Purchasing department
• Provides management with clear, timely, and accurate information to make production decisions. Alerts management to deviations (or potential deviations) from established plans
• Maintains and follows purchasing procedures to conform to internal controls, AS9100 or ISO9001 standards.
• Other duties as assigned
The expected salary range for this position is between $75,000 - $95,000 USD annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
Candidate skills & requirements
Job Specifications
• BS Degree in Business, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of MRP planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Fluency in ERP system functionality and upkeep, preferably with SAP
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong multi-tasking skills and follow through ability to prioritize as needs adjust constantly
• Able to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
• Excellent business acumen, commitment to teamwork, and results orientation
• Superior interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to work independently
Working Conditions
• Lighting and temperature are adequate.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
• Protective eyewear and footwear must be worn in manufacturing areas, approximately 30% of standard work day
• The employee is regularly required to sit with occasional walking.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Candidates for positions with Safran Aerospace Composites must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment eligibility verification will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.
