Job Description

About the position
The Stormwater Program Manager at the Audubon Society of Rhode Island is responsible for leading technical stormwater efforts at the Stormwater Innovation Center. This role focuses on enhancing the health of Rhode Island waterways through project management, research, community engagement, and training initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stormwater management and a passion for environmental leadership.
Responsibilities
• Lead the project management of stormwater and green infrastructure planning, design, and construction projects.

• Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, consultants, and community organizations, to ensure successful project outcomes.

• Oversee water quality and stormwater monitoring programs.

• Develop methodologies to collect, analyze, and report on water quality and stormwater performance data.

• Design and implement research programs to assess the effectiveness of existing green infrastructure.
,
• Lead cyanobacteria monitoring efforts, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to inform public health decisions.

• Share research findings with the broader stormwater community through professional trainings, workshops, and educational tours.

• Lead community science programs, including volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination, to foster public involvement in water quality and stormwater improvement efforts.
Requirements
• Strong background in stormwater management and water quality research.

• Experience with continuous monitoring and telemetered sensors and data loggers.

• Proven project management skills in environmental or related fields.
