JOB OVERVIEW Gain experience in the field of volunteer stewardship while working with volunteer groups doing land management activities and outreach to local community! Furthermore, the individual in this role will be trained on-the-job for most tasks. This individual will assist the Stewardship Ecologist with leading volunteer groups for restoration activities such as removing invasive brush, seed collection, seeding, tree planting/caging, fence removal, herbicide treatment, hand pulling weeds, and other seasonal activities as needed. Office-related tasks will include mapping work in GIS, recording volunteer hours, contacting/meeting with partner organizations (especially those that that serve historically underrepresented groups), and planning culturally relevant, accessible restoration activities for interested groups.
