Job Description

beBee Careers is seeking a Staff Water Resources Analyst in Springfield, MO. The role involves developing and applying hydrologic and water quality models, analyzing water data, validating models, and preparing technical reports. Candidates need a graduate degree in engineering or science, experience with hydrology models, programming skills in Python or R, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment. This is a full-time position.
Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as a Staff Water Resources Analyst on a variety of projects related to water resources modeling, including:
• Developing and applying hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality models to simulate watershed processes and water systems.
• Collections, processes, and interprets hydrologic, climatic, land use, and water quality data for model input and calibration.
• Analysing surface water and groundwater flow, runoff, sediment transport, and pollutant loading data.
• Validating models using observed data to ensure reliability.
• Conducting scenario analyses to evaluate the impacts of land use change, climate variability, or infrastructure improvements on water systems.
• Preparing technical reports, maps, and visualizations to communicate model results to stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Collaborating with engineers, scientists, planners, and public agencies to integrate modeling results into broader water resource management strategies.

Requirements
• Graduate degree in engineering or science with an emphasis on hydrology, modeling, analytical approach development, and GIS.
• Solid understanding of basic hydrology, sediment, and water quality principles.
• Experience with at least one common hydrology, hydraulic, sediment transport, and/or water quality models (e.g. LSPC, SWMM, HSPF, CE-QUAL-W2, and SWAT).
• Experience with stormwater best management practice modeling.
• Experience with programming in Python or R.
• Experience with machine learning and/or optimization techniques a plus.
• Experience with compiled programming languages (e.g., C, C++, C#) or demonstrated ability to update and maintain model code a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task under strict deadlines.
• Must be comfortable working in a highly collaborative team environment.
