UCLA Health is seeking a Staff Researcher in Neurobiology to conduct research in Neurogenomics using animal models and human tissues. Responsibilities include preparing chemical solutions, conducting brain tissue collection and analysis, maintaining an animal colony, managing data logs, and overseeing laboratory operations. This full-time position is based in Los Angeles, CA, and offers a salary range of $28.88 - $46.46 hourly.

In this Staff Researcher (SRA 2) position you’ll:
• Perform research into Neurogenomics using animals as models and postmortem tissues from humans and other species.
• Prepare chemical solutions for experimental use.
• Conduct brain tissue collection followed by sectioning and IHC, ISH, or immunoblotting.
• Conduct nuclei isolation from brain tissues followed by single cell genomics library generation.
• Maintain animal colony, including weekly tracking of subjects, breeding, and disposal.
• Maintain data collection logs, including database management and tracking of surgical specimens.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.
• Oversee and manage the general running of the laboratory, including the technical and administrative aspects.
