Environmental Research Group is hiring a full-time Staff Archaeologist - Mid/Senior to lead field projects in Arkansas and Missouri. The role involves managing fieldwork, writing reports, ensuring safety compliance, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with a team. Candidates should have a Master's degree in a related field and 5 years of experience in cultural resource management. Environmental Research Group (ERG) is offering one full-time, mid-senior archaeologist position to lead field project work and a small team primarily in Arkansas and Missouri. ERG is a virtual-work-friendly organization. Candidates based in/around Arkansas, Missouri, or our brick-and-mortar office locations in Norman, OK and Austin, Texas are preferred. Candidates in other areas of the south-central United States will also be considered.

As a Staff Archaeologist, you would be expected to manage and run field projects (typically a 10-4 day schedule) assist with writing reports, ensure project safety compliance, liaison with local client contacts, peer review project products, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with a team.

The Ideal Candidate Will Meet/Exceed the Following Qualifications
• Education
• Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field.
• Professional Experience
• 5 years of experience in archaeological field projects in a cultural resource management (CRM) environment (leading crews, report writing, client communication)
• Conducting/Directing Phase I field surveys, Phase II testing projects, and archaeological monitoring during construction
• Making significant writing contributions to regulatory coordination and reports
• Experience with artifact analysis, geophysical remote sensing, and/or other specialties a plus
• Regulatory and Permitting Proficiency
• Working knowledge of relevant federal and state cultural and environmental resource regulations (Section 106, NEPA, Guidelines for Archaeological investigations in various states with emphasis on Arkansas and Missouri)
• Professional Skills
• Detail-oriented, strong communication, data collection & analysis skills
• GIS-based field data collection, analysis, and reporting
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, including as a team leader
• Time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work outdoors in remote locations under various conditions (physical stamina required)
• Additional Requirements
• Valid driver's license
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to pass security clearances and background checks
