Develop and implement energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives for the University of Utah campus.
Conduct energy audits and data analysis to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate with campus departments and stakeholders to evaluate building systems and recommend energy-saving upgrades.
Lead and manage energy conservation projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and overseeing contractors.
Stay current on industry trends and best practices in energy efficiency and sustainability to continuously improve campus performance.
Monitor and track energy usage data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate energy efficiency progress and results to campus leadership.
Train and educate campus staff on energy-saving practices and procedures.
Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and organizations to leverage resources and advance sustainability efforts.
Conduct research and analysis to support decision-making on energy-related projects and initiatives.
Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal energy regulations and standards.
Collaborate with other campus sustainability initiatives to promote a holistic approach to environmental stewardship.
Act as a liaison between the university and energy service providers to negotiate contracts and manage energy costs.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and interns on energy efficiency and sustainability principles.
Continuously seek out opportunities to improve energy efficiency and sustainability efforts on campus.
