Nestle is seeking a Sr. Specialist in Sustainable Sourcing in Seville, OH. The role involves operationalizing Nestle's Sustainable Sourcing strategy, leading cross-functional teams, and tracking vendor sustainability performance. Responsibilities include aligning with procurement strategies, supporting sustainability objectives, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you are responsible for operationalizing Nestle's Sustainable Sourcing strategy by engaging with procurement and business stakeholders to drive sustainability outcomes. You will lead cross-functional teams and manage key projects, ensuring they align with Nestle's commitments and providing monthly updates to Procurement Leadership. Tracking vendor performance on sustainability and recycling using existing tools and templates is a key responsibility, as well as working with internal stakeholders to achieve key performance indicators within the Sustainable Sourcing Program.
Job Duties/Deliverables:
• Operationalize Nestle's Sustainable Sourcing strategy by engaging across Procurement and business stakeholders to drive sustainability outcomes
• Lead cross-functional teams and scope, schedule, budget of key projects that meet our Nestle commitments, with monthly updates Procurement Leadership
• Track vendor performance on sustainability and recycling using existing tools and templates. Work with internal stakeholders to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) within Sustainable Sourcing Program
• Support the Nestle USA (NUSA) sustainable sourcing strategy in close collaboration with Direct Procurement leadership
• Align support and be transparent where possible across all Nestle operating companies in the United States market
• Work with the category procurement teams and Business Partner teams to embed greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable sourcing objectives into business and Procurement strategies - including functional development, 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Process (7SSS), Market Business Strategy (MBS), personal development plan (PDP) and team objectives
• Conduct regular communications to help develop pipeline of initiatives with internal partners and external organizations, in alignment with Nestle USA Sustainable Sourcing strategy
• Serve as a 'category expert' in sustainability for Nestle; conduct regular communications around sustainable sourcing and sustainability activities between internal partners and external organizations, in alignment with the Nestle Sustainability strategy
• Participate in external organizations, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government, etc. to help develop collaborative initiatives that reduce cost, enable scale, and produce needed results for Nestle USA Sustainable Sourcing strategy
Critical Experiences/Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in related field required
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement or Supply-Chain with proven success of category management or 5 years of experience working on sustainability related topics, such as climate, water, waste, recycling, packaging, agriculture preferred
Qualifications/Certifications:
• Exceptional business acumen, using broad-based knowledge of sourcing, procurement, supplier management processes, supplier diversity and inclusion
• Understanding of, and passion for, business justification for sustainability of suppliers and demonstrate strong change leadership
• Ability to interface and influence within the organization
• Practical spend category experience with one or more categories in their area of responsibility
• Demonstrated strategic buying ability
• Candidate must be quick at study, proven ability to adapt to change, ability to work across boundaries and borders, strong decision making
• Must show excellent communication and collaboration skills and proven ability to influence at all levels in a matrixed organization
• Strong analytical skills, and effective skills in environmental, market, and vendor analysis
• Required proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
