About the position
ASARCO is seeking a Senior Corporate Environmental Manager to lead environmental affairs across all operations. This role focuses on enhancing ASARCO's environmental performance through strategic direction, compliance with regulations, and collaboration with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will champion continual improvement in environmental practices and support the company's sustainability goals.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement comprehensive environmental strategies to lead operations in executing ASARCO's environmental policies.

• Provide strategic direction and expert advice to environmental teams across ASARCO operations.

• Collaborate with site leadership to identify and manage environmental risks based on ICMM and ISO 14001 frameworks.

• Negotiate solutions to environmental opportunities with operational leadership and governmental agencies.

• Manage the updating of conceptual closure plans in collaboration with regulatory agencies and local communities.

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance biodiversity and climate change programs aligned with ASARCO's sustainability goals.

• Monitor and communicate new environmental regulatory requirements to ensure legal compliance.

• Support operations with the review of permit applications and modifications.
Requirements
• Advanced understanding of federal, state, and county environmental laws and regulations.

• Project management experience in planning, budgeting, and executing environmental projects.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess environmental risks and drive improvements.

• Thorough understanding of ISO 14001 standards and environmental management best practices.

• Knowledge of land use regulations and permitting processes.

• Familiarity with mining and milling processes.
