Sr. Business Analyst - Commercial Sustainable Finance

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) is a rapidly emerging field in domestic commercial banking. The Sustainable Finance team is at the center of all ESG-related activity within Capital One Commercial and represents Commercial in Enterprise ESG discussions and engagements with outside partners. The team's core responsibility is developing and executing the Commercial Bank's Sustainable Finance and ESG strategy by collaborating across the Capital One organization. Its goal is to drive sustainability-related commercial activity in line with the Capital One social and sustainability agendas as well as the interests of customers, shareholders, employees and regulators.
SUMMARY
The team's primary responsibility is to support the development and execution of the Commercial Bank's Sustainable Finance strategy, including by: managing ESG reporting and data, benchmarking external factors that will influence the evolving strategy, supporting ESG-related risk management workstreams, and identifying and executing on new opportunities for sustainable finance solutions that better serve our Commercial clients. A Senior Business Analyst in the Commercial Sustainable Finance team applies strategic and analytical skills and passion for environmental and social issues to their work. Hires are expected to be thought-leaders on ESG issues. The Senior Business Analyst will track competitor, regulator, and client positioning on ESG issues, manage ESG-related reporting for Commercial, and work closely with the Head of Sustainable Finance and internal stakeholders to identify and develop our data and reporting needs to support evolving strategic initiatives and potential public disclosures and commitments.
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Strong interpersonal skills, poise, a sense of humor, and a willingness to roll up one's sleeves and tackle diverse challenges as they come are invaluable in this business.
Specific responsibilities & competencies include, but are not limited to:
• Business analytics & forecasting: Analyze sustainable finance performance trends (internal and market trends), investigate variance, frame up risks and opportunities, anticipate future outcomes, and make recommendations
• New Product Development: Build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new sustainable finance capabilities and products
• Quality and clarity: Pursue standardization and clarity around how we analyze data, and support improvements in our data infrastructure to be more robust and reliable. Deliver error-free work and crystal clear insights to enable rapid response efforts and efficient decision-making. Scope of work examples include build, own & maintain Commercial Sustainable Finance Dashboards, own data and calculations to support ESG disclosures, and manage regular reporting to Commercial leadership

• Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Learning Agility: Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. This includes an eagerness to pick up new skills including SQL and Python and investigate external data and tools relevant to ESG and Sustainable Finance initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 1 years of experience in analysis
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Computer Science, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, or Engineering)
• At least 1 year of experience in SQL or Python or Data Visualization
• At least 2 years of experience in business analysis
• At least 2 years of experience in financial services
• At least 1 years of experience in consulting
• At least 1 year of experience in senior leadership communications
