The Specialist - Environmental Health & Safety is a multidisciplinary role focused on the administration, maintenance, and operation of safety and environmental programs within an automotive manufacturing environment. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, monitoring environmental activities, and reinforcing safe work practices across departments.
Responsibilities
• Develop, coordinate, and lead activities aligned with company goals and objectives.

• Provide technical direction and assistance to identify and troubleshoot programs, proposing countermeasures and solutions.
,
• Monitor environmental activities and needs for the company.
,
• Process day-to-day Worker's Compensation claims.
,
• Conduct hazard prevention and control processes.
,
• Reinforce safe and environmentally sound work practices with other departments.
,
• Support Safety teams in identifying potential safety risks.
,
• Develop communication systems with department managers for day-to-day activities.
,
• Work with team leaders and Process Engineering to resolve safety issues.
,
• Maintain Team Member Incident Tracking Chart(s) for senior managers.
,
• Participate in investigations and root cause analysis of incidents, facilitating report completion and analyzing trends.
,
• Conduct effective environmental health & safety training and ensure compliance with regulatory training requirements.
,
• Develop and maintain communication with medical providers, Team members, and Worker's Compensation adjusters.
,
• Utilize EHS Software and SAP for various administrative tasks.
,
• Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Systems Management (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) guidelines.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
,
• 0 - 10 years of job-related experience preferred.
,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
