We are looking for a Solar Technician with Preventative & Corrective maintenance experience to join our rapidly growing renewable energy company. This role is pivotal in ensuring that AES CE operates its portfolio to standards that exceed industry best practices. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of taking direction from Field Service leads, and will have the opportunity for professional growth as AES CE becomes a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the industry. As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for assigned Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities associated with solar PV sites and substations linked to utility-scale Solar Energy Plants in Southern Arizona. Your primary sites will be located in Casa Grande, Phoenix, Globe, and Yuma areas. You will perform and assist with corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance for various equipment, including installed inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, PV modules, and DC/AC collection systems. You will also assist with routine maintenance work, electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration, and basic inverter troubleshooting as assigned by your supervisor. Additionally, you will prepare and implement switching and clearance orders, operate electrical and mechanical power plant systems, and participate in required training. This role may also involve assisting with site vegetation management plans and writing or assisting with Plant Orders, Procedures, and Operating Instructions. Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirements is crucial, and you may work independently or in teams depending on your skills and experience.

• Assist with routine maintenance work such as electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration, and basic inverter troubleshooting as assigned.

• Operate electrical and mechanical power plant systems.

• Participate in training as required.

• Assist with technical and administrative duties associated with operating and maintaining a power plant.

• Assist with site vegetation management plans including operating tractors and other maintenance equipment.

• Write or assist with Plant Orders, Procedures, and Operating Instructions as assigned.

• Ensure work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirements.
Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required.
,
• Technical degree or Solar certification preferred.
,
• Experience in solar system installation is a plus.
,
• Basic knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals such as electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid-state theory application is a plus.
,
• Experience with electrical systems and familiarity with basic safety principles including LOTO and Electrical Safety.
,
• Proficiency in operating personal computers and standard business software.
,
• Experience with SCADA and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems is highly recommended.

• Ability to excel in an integrative, multi-functional, and geographically diverse organization.

• Integrity and excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience in solar system installation.

• Basic knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment and associated control devices installed in power facilities.
