ENGIE North America Inc. is hiring a Solar Technician for the Solidago Solar Site in Townsend, DE. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing solar inverters, managing documentation, and coordinating high voltage activities. The role requires a minimum of a high school diploma, two years of relevant experience, and the ability to be on call. This is a field position with daily travel to the site and involves both indoor and outdoor work.

What You Can Expect
ENGIE North America is hiring a Solar Technician for our Solidago Solar Site located near Townsend, DE. As a Solar Technician, your daily responsibilities begin with accessing tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or various SAP software systems and repairing, troubleshooting, and fulfilling technical repair work orders for solar inverters. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs.
• Coordination of high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO), including substation operations, equipment lockouts, and grounding.
• Adherence to safety protocols such as Site‑Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings.
• Work independently on‑site with safety support from nearby technicians; the site's team includes a site manager, a Balance of Plant technician, and the solar technician.
• On‑call rotation for outages and emergencies; residence within 50 miles of the site required.
What You’ll Bring
• Minimum High School Diploma/GED or a diploma in a technical program covering AC/DC current, electrical theory, reading blueprints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breakers, disconnects, transformers, and contractors.
• Minimum two years of experience in Solar generation sites, Wind generation sites, Manufacturing or Mining operations, Controls & Industrial Maintenance, Balance of Plant or Substation.
• Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor.
Additional Details
• This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s).
• Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages.
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant.
• Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
• The position consists of 30% work indoors and 70% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions.
Compensation
Salary Range: $37.81–$43.00 USD hourly. Base pay is complemented by a competitive bonus/incentive plan and emergency or on-call pay.
