Grid Connection Engineering Role

We are seeking an experienced Grid Connection Engineer to lead and manage grid connection engineering efforts for solar projects in the EU. As a key member of our grid connection engineering department, you will be responsible for collaborating with project managers and developers, identifying grid connection opportunities, and conducting feasibility studies and technical assessments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in grid connection engineering for renewable energy projects. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining technical documentation, providing technical expertise, and mentoring junior engineers throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with project managers and developers to design effective grid connection strategies.
• Identify grid connection opportunities within the distribution and transmission network.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate grid connection options, compiling a comprehensive grid study for our renewable energy projects.
• Liaise with utility companies, regulatory bodies, and local authorities to secure permits and approvals.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including connection specifications and project plans.
• Provide technical expertise and mentor junior engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop optimal grid connection solutions, completing application forms, associated technical proposals, and reviewing grid offers.
• Thoroughly analyze and interrogate grid connection offers to ensure technical and commercial accuracy, challenging network companies on any discrepancies.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technology advancements related to grid connections.
