Company Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager to join our team.
Position Overview: As a Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in the development, monitoring and execution of on-site solar PV projects in the UK across the portfolio of our client, one of the leading Private Equity Real Estate proprietors.
Leveraging your expertise in solar PV, you will be responsible for site identification to taking projects from initial feasibility through to the "ready-to-build" stage, onboarding and management of performance, including reporting. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently, demonstrate strong project management skills, technical expertise and commercial acumen and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and support assessment of on-site solar PV project opportunities across our client’s portfolio. Work with solar partners and the wider client team to establish feasibility studies, set up site assessments.
• Ensure all new assets acquired with solar in place are underwritten and accurately onboarded onto the client’s platforms.
• Carry out financial modelling and scenario analysis on individual projects and across project portfolios. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines and budgets vs actuals.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external stakeholders, to secure necessary approvals and ensure wider business teams complete solar deployment responsibilities.
• Work with solar partners to deliver customer engagement around power purchase agreements (PPAs), benefits of solar and other contractual agreements on the client’s behalf.
• Manage project finances and build capital expenditure approval papers.
• Work with utilities team and billing to onboard deployed sites and purchased assets with solar in place.
• Track performance of existing systems and financial forecasting for income generation over course of solar system lifetime.
• Work with Facilities Management (FM) to ensure Operations and Maintenance (O&M) obligations are managed and tracked.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations and emerging technologies to inform project strategies, business engagement, decision-making and evolve the solar model.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in onsite solar PV project development, with a strong understanding of the solar PV market in the UK and exposure to working with commercial operations and processes of institutional asset managers.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering on-site solar PV projects from inception to completion.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, permitting processes, and incentive programs related to solar PV development.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage timelines, and mitigate risks.
• Strong communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders – including asset managers, FM teams and building occupiers.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and financial modelling.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative, while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Right to work in the UK is required.
