Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Solar Installer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of electrical systems, and a passion for renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Installation: Install solar PV systems including solar panels, inverters, racking, and electrical components on rooftops and ground mounts.
• System Design: Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand system blueprints and layout plans.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control measures to ensure systems are installed to company and industry standards.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair issues with solar energy systems.
• Customer Service: Interact with customers professionally, answering questions and explaining system operation.
• Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate records of installations, services, and repairs.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members, including project managers, electricians, and apprentices.

Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in solar installation or related fields a plus
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years construction experience required (i.e. know how to measure twice and cut once)
• Skills:
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good physical condition with the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Certifications: OSHA 10 safety certification a plus.
• Licenses: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Working Conditions:
• Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs).
• Comfortable working at heights and on rooftops.
• Flexibility to work occasional weekends and overtime as needed.

The targeted compensation for this role is between $17.00 and $25.00 per hour, however, it may vary depending on location. Illinois compensation expectations are between $17.00 and $25.00 per hour.
