Lumina is looking for a Lead Solar Installer to join our Residential team in Palm, Pennsylvania.
As a Lead Solar Installer on the Residential team, you will play a critical role in our solar operations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the installation crew and managing the entire install process. You will also install and commission energy systems, resolve equipment issues, ensure adherence to safety regulations and codes, and maintain high-quality workmanship. This versatile role is instrumental in enhancing processes and supporting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our solar installations.
In This Role, You'll Get To
• Lead and manage the installation crew, ensuring effective coordination and communication among team members
• Supervise the entire installation process from planning to completion, ensuring timeliness and quality standards are met
• Conduct thorough inspections to ensure installations meet high-quality workmanship and safety standards
• Load and unload materials at the warehouse and job site, ensuring all necessary materials are present, organized, and maintaining a clean work environment
• Install and commission energy systems on roofs, including array layout and mounting hardware, tailored to site conditions and customer expectations
• Adhere to building standards and codes when installing panels and support structures.
• Address and resolve equipment issues and failures on-site efficiently
• Utilize expertise to enhance processes and proactively review the quality of workmanship
• Work closely with team members and communicate job status effectively to management
• Ensure all equipment is properly weather-sealed to maintain system integrity
• Maintain company vehicles, ensuring they are well-stocked, properly serviced, and in good condition
• Follow all safety regulations and policies to ensure a safe working environment, and ensure all crew members are adhering to the company's safety requirements at all times
• May at times be asked to sit in on inspections, attend surveys, or assist with maintenance tasks
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support project and company success
On Your First Day, We'll Expect You To Have
• Over 2 years of experience in Residential Solar
• Proven ability to take charge on-site and keep the crew working safely and efficiently
• Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and wiring
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems (AC and DC), including troubleshooting, wiring, and assembly
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues
• Ability to climb ladders, work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
• Experience and comfort working in attics and confined spaces
• Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds
• Proficiency in using smartphones and tablets for communication, job-related apps, documenting work progress, and staying connected with team members and supervisors
• Proven track record of reliable attendance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job
• Position requires passing a drug screening and background check
• A valid driver’s license is required for all positions at Lumina Solar
