Solar Home Designer (OpenSolar Software)

Daylight Energy is seeking a Solar Home Designer in India to design solar power systems for residential properties using OpenSolar software. Job Summary:

As a Solar Home Designer, you will be responsible for designing efficient and aesthetically pleasing solar power systems for residential properties using OpenSolar software. Your role will involve collaborating with clients, project managers, and engineers to create customized solar designs that meet client requirements while maximizing energy generation and system performance.

Responsibilities:
• Utilize OpenSolar software to create detailed solar system designs for residential properties, incorporating accurate panel placement, wiring, and equipment specifications.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and engineers to understand project requirements and ensure designs align with client expectations and local regulations.
• Perform site visits to assess roof conditions, shading analysis, and other factors that may impact solar system design.
• Create 3D renderings and visualizations of proposed solar installations to help clients visualize the final design.
• Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including technical drawings, equipment lists, and installation instructions.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience in solar system design, specifically using Design or Solar Design software.
• Strong understanding of photovoltaic systems, including solar panel technologies, inverters, and balance of system components.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex design challenges and propose innovative solutions.
• Solid knowledge of local building codes, electrical regulations, and safety standards related to solar power installations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.· Passion for renewable energy and sustainable design.
