Pearce Renewables is hiring a Solar Field Service Technician in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves inspecting and maintaining photovoltaic solar panel systems, troubleshooting electrical components, and ensuring safety compliance. Candidates should have 1-2 years of relevant experience, be proficient with Microsoft Office, and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. At Pearce Renewables, we are seeking a highly skilled Solar Field Service Technician (Photovoltaic Repair) to join our team.

This is a unique opportunity to work on critical telecommunication and renewable energy infrastructure projects nationwide.
Your Impact

You will specialize in conducting inspection and corrective maintenance of photovoltaic (PV) solar panel systems, adhering to established procedures and prioritizing health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Solar Panel Maintenance Technicians will be responsible for both internal and external inspection and maintenance of solar panels, inverters, and other PV components. Their tasks may include troubleshooting, testing, and repairing solar panels, as well as handling materials. Additionally, they may provide assistance in service and maintenance activities related to other solar energy system components and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot inverters, combiner boxes, and replace/repair string lines.
• Perform LOTO, IV Curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and IR scans.
• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar power plants in accordance with established standards and procedures; always maintains safety and professionalism.
• Troubleshoot system problems and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Responsible for documentation including, but not limited to, work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedules.
• Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally per the Pearce Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements. Maintain Pearce Renewables company vehicle so that it is always clean, presentable, functional.
Core Experience:
• 1-2 years suitable employment experience; High aptitude and a strong work ethic is a must.
Apply NFPA 70E/OSHA 10 training.
• Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
• Able to test installed equipment, ensuring proper working order including daily mechanical electrical inspections.
• Proficient with Microsoft office.
Physical/Work Environment:
• Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds).
• Work possible rotating shifts (100% travel is required for this position).
• Work in an indoor or outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions with blowing pollen, dust, and grasses.
• Be exposed to ambient temperatures while working outdoors.
