Job Description

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Solar Energy Specialist in New Delhi, India. The role involves providing technical guidance on renewable solar energy projects, optimizing design and execution based on various requirements, and engaging with clients and technology providers. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 15 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in PVsyst and knowledge of industry standards is essential.
Responsible for providing technical guidance to design and project execution teams on concepts, value engineering and best practices that apply to design delivery of renewable solar energy facilities. Shall bring to bear profound knowledge of available technologies, technology advancements around the globe, equipment, systems and hardware offerings that are state-of-the-art, and design and erection options that improve craft productivity or safety. Will engage externally with clients and technology providers in tandem with Bechtel’s global teams to ideate, resolve and implement solutions specific to a given project.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:-

Lend subject matter expertise and technical leadership on a range of applications and markets in renewable energy, primarily solar photovoltaic and solar CSP.
Lead configuration, design and execution optimization efforts based on site conditions, customer requirements, regulatory requirements, life-cycle economics and sustainability.
Provide technical review and power output expectations for a variety of module and inverter technologies to support procurement and engineering with selection.
Sustain, in coordination with GBU SMEs, an effective network with suppliers and contractors to support company’s solar photovoltaic and energy storage business.
Guide teams on energy production modeling with PVsyst software.
Supervise conceptual designs and quantities to support proposals and estimates.
Review work scopes and design criteria for EPC execution and subcontracts.
Lead engineering coordination and provide technical design information for building permits and interconnection applications.
Review and concur on design documents including calculations, drawings, and reports.
Research, collect, review and evaluate technical papers, industry reports and experimental data to build company’s renewable energy knowledge base.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:-

Proficiency in PVsyst and other relevant software for designing PV solar systems.
Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, UL standards for renewable energy systems.
Knowledge of major equipment suppliers and technical attributes of their product lines.
Knowledge of EPC work processes spanning major disciplines.
Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills.

JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:-

Bachelor’s degree in a core engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
Relevant cumulative work experience of 15 years or more across project development, project delivery and/or technical services in asset owner organizations in solar photovoltaic, energy storage and/or hybrid energy projects.

JOB DIMENSIONS:-
A. Supervision Received:-

Receives technical supervision from the Global Renewable SME and administrative supervision from Manager of Engineering in India.

B. Supervision Exercised:-

Provide technical oversight and direction to Bechtel’s initiatives and project assigned personnel.

C. Contacts:-

Maintains relationships with M&BD to help identify opportunities.
Works with different Functions to develop work processes and strategies in this area.
Maintains contact with other GBU Renewable personnel to solicit assistance and to keep them informed of changing requirements.
