Job Overview

The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and optimizing solar energy systems, conducting feasibility studies and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.

This role involves performance modeling, component evaluation, preparing engineering documentation and collaborating with teams and regulatory bodies.

Main Responsibilities
• Collaborate with teams to design and optimize solar energy systems while participating in design reviews and cross-functional meetings.
• Utilize design software to model system performance and adapt designs based on project needs and technological advancements.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, ensuring adherence to safety, quality and industry standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to support project development and progress.
• Evaluate and select solar components, analysing performance data to recommend improvements.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies, adapting to new tools and techniques in solar design.
• Collaborate with regulatory bodies to secure permits and ensure projects meet safety and environmental regulations.
• Offer technical support, address challenges and contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements
• Bachelor's/master's degree in electrical engineering.

Key Skills and Experience
• Software proficiency: AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, ETAP, MS Office, Solargraf and Aurora Solar or other solar-specific design tools.
• Project management: experience in managing design projects from conception to implementation and ability to coordinate with other engineers and stakeholders.
• Reneewable energy systems: understanding of solar energy systems and their integration into existing infrastructure.

Additional Information
• 4+ years of experience in design/electrical engineering with a focus on solar energy projects.

• Management experience a plus.
