Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with a focus on power generation. The ideal candidate will have experience in hydro, gas, and fossil power generating facilities, with additional expertise in renewable energy projects such as microgrids, solar, wind, and battery storage. This role involves performing calculations and conceptual designs for greenfield renewable projects.
Responsibilities
• Perform calculations and conceptual designs for greenfield renewable projects.
• Work on multi-discipline projects in hydro, gas, and fossil power generating facilities.
• Design and implement low voltage and medium voltage power distribution systems.
• Develop motor controls for both low voltage and medium voltage systems.
• Interface industrial processes with DCS and/or PLC systems.
• Utilize power distribution system modeling software such as ETAP or similar.
• Design panels and work within a 3D environment.
Essential Skills
• Experience in electrical engineering with an emphasis on power generation.
• Familiarity with hydro, gas, and fossil power generating facilities.
• Knowledge of microgrids, solar, wind, and battery storage systems.
• Proficiency in performing calculations and conceptual designs for greenfield renewable projects.
• Experience with low voltage and medium voltage power distribution and motor controls.
• Ability to interface industrial processes with DCS and/or PLC systems.
• Proficiency in using power distribution system modeling software (ETAP or similar).
• Familiarity with panel design and working in a 3D environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4-10 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Experience with Duke, TVA, Exelon, Dominion, or other power industry companies is desirable.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $52.88/hr.
