Job Description

Solar Energy World is seeking a Solar Design Engineer in Laurel, MD. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, strong drafting skills, and effective communication. Responsibilities include generating design layouts and providing technical support for solar projects. The position is full-time with a salary of $24–26 per hour. Candidates should have a degree in a related field, and interest in solar projects is essential.

We are currently experiencing explosive growth and are looking to add 1 Solar Design Engineer to our team.

Qualifications

· AutoCAD Proficiency: Skilled in using AutoCAD for detailed drawings; LISP experience is a bonus.
· Drafting Skills: Strong technical drafting abilities.
· Attention to Detail: Precise and accurate in creating drawings; aware of the impact of small errors.
· Communication: Effectively communicates design concepts, responsive to emails, and collaborates well in a team
. Team Player: Works well in a team setting, open to constructive criticism.
· Problem-Solving: Identifies potential issues in projects and communicates them to the team.
· Efficiency: Delivers high-quality projects quickly.
· Punctuality: Timely in tasks and responsibilities.
· Interest in Solar: Demonstrates an interest in solar-related projects.

· Education: Holds a degree in drafting, engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
· Certification: NACEP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

· Design Expertise: Generate conceptual design layouts, production reports, site plans, electrical diagrams and other documentation required for solar projects.
· Collaboration: Interact with diverse disciplines, including engineering, sales, operations, and installation teams.
· Process Support: Provide comprehensive technical support across SEW's project life cycle.
