Nature and Scope of Job
We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Six Sigma Black Belt to lead process improvement initiatives within our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in applying Six Sigma methodologies to identify opportunities for optimization, reduce variation, improve cycle time, and enhance overall product quality. The Six Sigma Black Belt will play a critical role in driving continuous improvement, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leading projects to streamline production processes.
Primary Responsibilities
• Lead Process Improvement Projects: Drive Six Sigma projects aimed at improving manufacturing processes, increasing productivity, reducing defects, and enhancing cycle times for products.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize statistical analysis and data-driven insights to identify process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
• Cycle Time Reduction: Focus on identifying and implementing strategies to reduce production cycle times without compromising quality or safety.
• Root Cause Analysis: Lead and mentor teams in applying Six Sigma tools such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) and other problem-solving techniques (e.g., Fishbone Diagrams, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) to identify and address root causes of process inefficiencies.
• Process Optimization: Develop and execute process optimization strategies, including the implementation of Lean and Six Sigma techniques, to eliminate waste, streamline workflows, and reduce cycle times.
• Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to Green Belts and other team members on Six Sigma tools, methodologies, and best practices. Facilitate training sessions on process improvement techniques.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain, to implement process improvements and ensure alignment with company goals.
• Project Management: Manage and oversee multiple process improvement projects simultaneously, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates on project progress, metrics, and results to senior management. Document project findings, improvements, and lessons learned.
• Sustainability: Develop and implement control plans and process monitoring systems to ensure the sustainability of improvements over time.

Qualifications
• Proven experience in process improvement within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
• Expertise in statistical tools and software (e.g., Minitab, JMP, or similar).
• Experience in managing and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with team members and senior management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Six Sigma Black Belt certification (or equivalent) is required.

Compensation
Salary/Hourly Rate Range (W2): USD 85.00 - 95.00
The base salary/hourly rate range represents the anticipated low and high end of the USDM's compensation range for this position. Actual salaries/hourly rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described based on market survey data or budget.
Full-time employees are eligible for health, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, short and long-term disability, hospital indemnity, accident, and critical care coverage.
Both full and part-time employees, who are at least 21 years of age, are eligible to participate in USDM's 401k plan. Full and part-time employees may be eligible for paid time off.
