Job Description
Johnson Controls is seeking a Site Superintendent for Sustainable Infrastructure projects in Massachusetts. The role involves supporting project execution, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and maintaining safety protocols. Responsibilities include project scheduling, site inspections, communication of progress, and training subcontractors. A Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License and a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience are required, along with at least four years in the building construction industry.
About the position
Under general direction, responsible for supporting execution of assigned Sustainable Infrastructure Projects. Supports assigned projects to ensure they are done accurately, on-time, and within scope of the contract. Helps ensure work performed is in compliance with state, local and Federal legal requirements and operates on the job with the highest of ethics. Adheres and ensures Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors adhere to all safety standards. Responsible for following consistent and repeatable project management procedures and processes. Maintains an effective balance between customer satisfaction and project financial results.
Responsibilities
• Acts in a support role for Project Executives, Construction Managers, Project Managers and delivery teams on assigned projects.

• Statuses project schedules and progress to plan for assigned projects.
,
• May assist in surveys, audits, field measurements, development of estimates and quotations under the direction of supervisors.
,
• Inspects work on job sites to ensure safety, quality, counts and work is being performed per the contractual scope of work.
,
• May assist in or facilitate the expediting materials, equipment or supplies as necessary in the field in support of assigned projects.
,
• Effectively communicates project progress, issues and recommends tactical workarounds to management as required.

• May assist in or support demonstration product installation as a part of a process development, sales demonstration process and/or proof of concept.
,
• Trains or assists in training of installers and subcontractors performing Johnson Controls scopes of work.
,
• Supports establishment and implementation of best practices.
,
• Assists in overseeing project construction for compliance with specifications, local codes and installation techniques.
,
• May support the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned.
,
• Responsible for receiving equipment at site and securing following guidelines for safety and security.
,
• Attends job progress meetings as required.
,
• Ensures subcontractors understand expectations of the project.
,
• Facilitates escalation of product related problems.
,
• Assists Project Delivery Consultants and / or opportunity pursuit team in project development efforts in conjunction with FM, LDOL or other members of the project team.

• Provides project schedule input and progress updates to Project Management team for master schedule update.
,
• Performs other tasks as may be assigned by management with respect to supervision, documentation, logging of changes, progress or other project related tasks.
Requirements
• Construction Supervisor License for the State of Massachusetts from the Board of Building Regulations and Standards.
,
• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture or equivalent work related experience and a minimum of 4 years of installation and crew leadership experience in the Building Construction Industry.

• Experience with Lighting, HVAC controls, Electrical Systems, Solar Systems, BAS management, Fire management, and Security management systems is desired.
,
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
,
• Strong Personal Computer working capabilities in MS Office (excel, word, power point), Adobe Writer, Visio and basic Windows environment.
,
• Able to travel based on assigned projects, as projects may exist outside of assigned geography.
Nice-to-haves
• Able to identify in the field various types of systems and properly document these and the proposed alternatives utilizing appropriate systems.
,
• Good communication skills both customer facing and with subcontractors and labor populations.
,
• Ability to travel extensively may also be a requirement of this position.
