Reports to: Equipment Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Department: Equipment
Compensation: $75,000-$85,000 annually, based on experience

The Opportunity

Alpha Inc. is seeking a detail-driven, solutions-oriented Shipping & Logistics Specialist to streamline the movement of materials, equipment, and supplies across our projects in Hawaii. In this role, you'll be the operational linchpin that ensures every shipment is accurate, timely, and cost-effective-supporting high-impact projects that are shaping Hawaii's infrastructure.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining the flow of operations. You'll coordinate closely with internal departments, vendors, and carriers while managing logistics systems and ensuring regulatory compliance. What You Will Do

Shipping & Inventory Coordination
• Coordinate and manage incoming and outgoing shipments for materials, equipment, supplies, and vehicles.
• Prepare and organize shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading, shipping orders, labels).
• Ensure accurate routing and secure packaging of all materials.
Logistics Systems & Supplier Management
• Develop and maintain logistics systems and SOP databases.
• Record shipment data, space availability, and job coding for tracking and reporting.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure optimal delivery outcomes.
Compliance & Reporting
• Monitor and ensure adherence to domestic and international trade regulations.
• Maintain shipping receipts and work with Accounting for timely invoice processing.
• Research requirements for new country entries and ensure all procedures meet compliance standards.
Equipment & Asset Coordination
• Support purchasing, leasing, and renting of equipment and vehicles, including registration, permitting, and insurance.
• Manage E360 system for equipment tracking and data maintenance.
What You Bring
• Minimum 3 years of experience in shipping and logistics operations.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Background in construction or related industry is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing vendors, negotiating rates, and coordinating large-scale deliveries.
