Service Advisor/Technician (Full Time)

Trek Bicycle Store of Highland Park is seeking a full-time Service Advisor/Technician with strong customer service skills and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities include diagnosing bicycle issues, providing repairs, and building customer relationships. The role requires good communication, problem-solving skills, and physical ability to lift heavy bikes. Previous experience is preferred but not mandatory. The position is based in Highland Park, IL.
Summary

We?re looking for a teammate with excellent customer service skills and a willingness to learn. You'll have the opportunity to speak with customers to evaluate issues and recommend repairs. This role requires elevated skills in communication, leadership, and problem-solving, along with a knowledge of bicycle maintenance.

Duties
• Diagnose and troubleshoot bicycle issues, providing on-the-spot repairs and services.
• Work on various types of bikes, ensuring they are in top condition.
• Assist the Service Staff and act as the face of the department.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, ensuring they trust you with their gear.
• Stay updated with new models and technologies, having first-hand access before they hit the sales floor.

Requirements
• Self-motivation and a positive, team-focused mentality.
• Excellent hospitality skills, including a warm, approachable manner and great listening skills.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Eagerness to learn proper service methods and new technologies.
• Physical ability to lift 55 lbs. or more regularly throughout the workday.
• Availability to work weekends. (Minimum 1 day)
• Previous bike technician experience is preferred but not required.
