Job Description

DNV is seeking a Senior Wind Due Diligence Engineer in Cape Town, South Africa. The role involves technical due diligence, assessing contracts, project management, and mentoring junior staff. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of TDD experience in renewable energy. The position requires knowledge of industry regulations and trends, with a willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Job Summary

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for performing Technical Due Diligence, including assessing construction contracts, operation and maintenance contracts, grid connection agreements, power purchase agreements, balance of plant, wind technology and site suitability assessment, technical analysis of project contracts, and evaluation of technical inputs for project financial models.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assessment of project construction schedule
• Review of project authorizations, licenses or land securement contracts
• Evaluation of technical inputs for Project's Financial Model
• Project management of medium/large size projects and portfolios
• Owner's and/or Lender's Engineer (Independent Engineer) during pre-construction and construction phase of the projects
• Commercial support (awareness of market trends, participation in industry conferences, proposal management)
• Technology scouting and market watch
• Assistance with general group activities
• Mentor junior staff

Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required
• Professional registration not a prerequisite but viewed as an additional positive aspect
• Minimum 5 years of previous TDD experience within renewable energy industry
• Understanding of enforceable norms and regulations within renewable industry
• Knowledge of global energy market and renewable energy technological trends in South Africa
• Exceptional English language skills
• Proficiency in standard commercial computer software
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
