The Role
Based out of Surrey Office, the Senior Water Resources Engineer will support the Infrastructure Planning Group.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead urban water, sanitary and drainage system modelling, including data management, model setup and calibration, and system assessment;
• Lead and review design calculations in accordance with current standards
• Lead the development of Infrastructure servicing plans, rainwater management plans and flood management plans for subdivisions, neighbourhood and city-wide areas;
• Lead technical analysis in support Civil engineering design associated with municipal water, sanitary sewer, drainage conveyance works and hydraulic structures;
• Develop rainwater source control concepts and lead in design of onsite source control BMPs and onsite/offsite detention facilities;
• Prepare construction cost estimates, implementation plan and operation and maintenance manuals; and
• Write and review of technical memorandums and reports.
Additional responsibilities will include client communication and management; proposal preparation; coordination with subconsultants, regulatory agencies, project planning, budgeting, scheduling and other project management tasks.
Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, water resources or related field with minimum ten (10) years of related experience;
• Registered as a P.Eng. or eligible with EGBC;
• Experienced in hydrological and hydraulic analysis and modelling using various techniques and modelling software;
• Experienced in infrastructure master planning, rainwater management planning and flood management planning;
• Proficient in using Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Civil3D, ArcGIS or QGIS and other computer programs for modelling of water distribution systems, sanitary and storm sewer systems and open channel hydraulics;
• Experienced in project management of projects with comprehensive planning tasks and coordination with internal and external project team members, clients, subconsultants and government agencies;
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills;
• Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $155,000 per year, commensurate with experience, skillsets, and qualifications.
