Job Description
Flow Power is seeking a Senior WHS Advisor in Sydney, Australia, to lead safety across renewable energy project sites. Responsibilities include providing WHS advice, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Opportunity
As our new Senior WHS Advisor, you’ll be the safety champion across multiple renewable energy project sites. You’ll embed best-practice processes, drive a proactive safety culture and partner with engineers, planners and contractors to ensure every Flow Power project is delivered without incident.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide practical WHS advice to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations and industry best practice
• Conduct risk assessments, site inspections and safety audits on energy construction projects of 5 – 50 MW solar farms and associated infrastructure
• Review and oversee contractor Safe Work Method Statements, permits and construction-method safety plans
• Deliver engaging safety inductions and training for employees, contractors and project partners
• Ensure onsite safety through hands-on safety leadership during active energy project construction
• An opportunity to take lead on our ISO45001 journey
About You
As a confident mid-level professional, you have the capability to work within an existing safety framework, review and provide continuous improvement, and ensure on-site safety through coordination and management of contractor’s safety behaviour.
In alignment with our company values, you have a high interest in the renewable energy sector and recognise this as a longer-term career opportunity.
Skills and Experience
• Tertiary-level qualification in OHS/WHS or related discipline, with a strong understanding of WHS legislation, regulation and compliance requirements
• 3+ years’ experience in a WHS role (ideally within the energy, construction or engineering sectors) either as a WHS Manager or a WHS Advisor who can demonstrate working confidently and independently
• Willingness to travel and ensure onsite safety via regular site visitation (must have driver’s license)
• Experience working with Safety Management Systems
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly with third-party suppliers
• Highly organised and strong self-management capability
• High familiarity with safety procedures and documentation
