About the position

AECOM is seeking a self-motivated Senior Transportation Environmental Planner to provide technical expertise and manage environmental tasks for transportation and infrastructure clients in the US West Region. This hybrid role requires a strong background in environmental review processes and project management, focusing on compliance with various environmental regulations.

Responsibilities
• Providing subject matter expertise in regulatory compliance processes such as NEPA, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act.

• Managing and preparing NEPA documents including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements for transportation projects.

• Performing and overseeing environmental technical studies and report preparation.

• Facilitating public and agency outreach.
,
• Overseeing all aspects of environmental projects including cost estimates, schedule, and budget.

• Working with and overseeing an interdisciplinary team of technical specialists.

• Providing support and mentorship to junior staff.
,
• Assisting with proposals and business development.

Requirements
• BA/BS Degree in environmental sciences, planning, geography, or related fields.

• 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in project management and NEPA compliance.

• Valid U.S Driver's license.

Nice-to-haves
• Master's degree in environmental sciences, planning, geography, or related fields.

• 10 years of relevant experience in project management and NEPA compliance.

• TxDOT Pre-certifications within Group 2, including 2.14.1 Environmental Document Preparation.

• Knowledge and experience with environmental review and compliance requirements in Texas.

• Technical background and expertise in a NEPA discipline, such as cultural resources, noise, air quality, biology, Clean Water Act permitting.

• Demonstrated technical writing and communication skills.
