Senior Transmission Planning Engineer

AVA Energy is seeking a Senior Transmission Planning Engineer in Portland, OR. The role requires over 5 years of experience in Transmission Planning and proficiency in tools like PSSE and PowerWorld. Responsibilities include developing power system models, conducting various stability studies, and creating long-range transmission plans. AVA Energy are currently partnered with a growing consultancy in the energy space looking for an experienced Transmission Planning & Interconnection Engineer. This role is full-time and is hybrid onsite in the Portland area:

Requirements
• 5+ years of Transmission Planning experience using PSSE, TARA, PowerWorld, or PSLF.
• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering.
• Must be able to develop and maintain accurate and reliable power system models for transmission planning purposes.
• Required to perform power flow, voltage stability, transient stability, and total transfer capability studies.
• Must be capable of creating long-range transmission plans and evaluating generator interconnections.
• Responsible for ensuring all studies and documentation meet client quality standards.
• Must possess strong communication skills to effectively explain complex engineering concepts to non-engineers.
