Job Description
Environmental Science Associates is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor in Georgia to lead projects on climate resilience and sustainable development. About the position
The Senior Technical Advisor at ESA will lead innovative projects and partnerships focused on climate resilience, sustainable development, and environmental stewardship. This role requires a strong background in nature-based solutions and environmental research, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration to integrate ecological principles into infrastructure systems. The advisor will also be on-call for special projects and proposals.
Responsibilities
• Lead and expand initiatives in nature-based solutions (NBS) to align with organizational and global sustainability goals.

• Collaborate and support the team on special proposals and projects.

• Develop strategic frameworks for integrating natural infrastructure into climate adaptation and mitigation projects.

• Act as a thought leader representing the organization in high-profile conferences, panels, and publications.

• Conduct research initiatives on ecological risk assessment, climate adaptation, and coastal resilience.
Requirements
• 20+ years of leadership experience in environmental science, nature-based solutions, and resilient infrastructure development.

• Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Biological Oceanography, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
,
• Proven track record in designing and executing high-impact programs and partnerships at national and international levels.
,
• Strong experience managing multimillion-dollar research initiatives and technical teams.
,
• In-depth knowledge of nature-based solutions, coastal resilience, and ecosystem services.
,
• Expertise in federal programs (e.g., NEPA, USACE), climate change policy, and risk-informed decision-making.
,
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences, including government officials, industry leaders, and academic partners.
