About the Position
The company is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee a $35 million higher education project located in Boone, NC. This position will require strong leadership skills to manage day-to-day field operations, ensuring the project is completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have experience managing large-scale projects, preferably in higher education, and will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of successful project execution. This position is ideal for someone based in Boone, NC, or within a 1.5-hour radius (such as Hickory or Winston-Salem), but we are also open to candidates who would be willing to travel to the project site from another location within North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage on-site field operations for the $35 million higher education project.
• Oversee subcontractors, scheduling, and daily activities to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
• Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for all staff and subcontractors.
• Ensure quality control standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain clear and regular communication with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Handle project documentation, including daily reports, safety logs, and progress updates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
• Ensure that the project stays on budget, adjusting resources as needed to meet financial goals.

Requirements
• 8+ years of experience in construction management, with a focus on higher education or similar large-scale institutional projects.
• Proven experience managing projects valued at $20 million or more.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, codes, and regulations.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work with a diverse team of subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple aspects of a project simultaneously, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
• Ability to be based in Boone, NC, or within 1.5 hours (e.g., Hickory, NC, or Winston-Salem, NC), but candidates from other NC locations who are willing to travel to the project site will also be considered.
• A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
