Job Summary:
• This 2-year postdoctoral researcher position will focus on coastal ecosystem ecology and groundfish habitat associations and spatial dynamics in the Gulf of Maine.
• The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Graham Sherwood and collaborate with a team of scientists at GMRI and staff at the Quahog Bay Conservancy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct field research on coastal ecosystem ecology, including sampling techniques and data analysis.
• Develop and implement spatial modeling efforts to describe groundfish distribution patterns.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to share research findings and inform management decisions.
Requirements:
• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline with strong quantitative background.
• Experience with field work, small boat operation, and relevant programming languages (e.g., R).
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
