Position Specific Description
In this role, you would directly impact our goal of aggressively growing renewable asset production. In this position, you will lead development projects from beginning to end, overseeing cross-functional teams across the NextEra Energy Resources organization. You will be working with leadership within Development to drive origination and business development efforts that will directly impact NextEra Energy’s bottom line. This role will focus on developing renewable projects located in Iowa.
Beyond the requirements below, you will also be responsible for presenting your projects and updates to Development leadership and providing your input and expertise daily to subject matter experts as a collaborative and dynamic team project leader. You will travel across our sites to gain expertise in the regional energy market, the project, and the local community. You will be able to dive into the process and progression of new and existing projects. This role will be based in Iowa and will require the ability to travel 50% to support the regional projects.
Preferred qualifications are:
• Experience developing renewable asset business opportunities
• Experience leading projects that require land acquisition, permitting, zoning, environmental studies, and interconnection evaluations
• Experience with project valuations, commercial agreements, and tax abatements
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams
• Experience with implementing project management principles and process design
• Experience & proficiency with corporate finance principles
• Experience & proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Comfortability in community engagement

Job Overview
Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result
• Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
• Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
• Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
• Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
• Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
• Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
• Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
• Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
