Senior Project Manager (Development) - Renewable Energy (utility-scale)

JD Ross Energy is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Development) for utility-scale renewable energy projects in Australia. The role involves overseeing project development from inception to planning approval, managing budgets, and leading a team. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in renewable energy project management in Australia. JD Ross Energy have partnered with a leading renewable energy client to help find a Senior Project Manager (Development) focusing on utility-scale renewable energy projects including (Firming Projects) across Australia.

Key Responsibilities;
• Project manage the development of firming generation and energy storage projects from project inception to planning approval and provide support in the financial investment decision process.
• The Senior Project Manager has full accountability for the project, including working with a small team, preparing project schedules and reporting, managing budgets and consultants, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
• As a senior member of the Development Team, oversee and provide guidance to other Project Managers, support project partners, provide advice where required, review project plans, reports and risk assessments and assist in liaising with stakeholders and regulators where required.
• Manage and support the consultation process with relevant planning authorities, regulators, general public, landowners, project partners and other stakeholders.
• Manage and lead the work of a team focused on deploying firmed renewable energy generation technologies; provide motivation, encouragement, and opportunities for development.

Experience & Knowledge:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing and managing utility scale renewable energy generation and storage projects and teams specifically in the Australian market.
• Strong understanding of the Australian energy market.
• Experience in planning approvals.
• Previous experience within feasibility and due diligence of new opportunities and making recommendations for investment.
• Ability to understand and influence key decision makers.
• Experience motivating high performing teams
