Bering Straits Native Corporation is seeking a Senior Program Manager for environmental projects in Alaska. Responsibilities include overseeing contract development, managing project tasks and quality control, and serving as the primary contact for stakeholders. Candidates should have a relevant Bachelor's degree, at least 10 years of experience in program management, and knowledge of environmental regulations. The role requires working in diverse environments in remote Alaska.
SUMMARYParagon Professional Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a competent and experienced Senior Program Manager to support complex environmental investigation and remediation projects in Alaska. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.Oversee the development and implementation of contracts.Be responsible for overall management of project tasks and quality control.Serve as the primary point-of-contact for contract issues, maintaining direct contact with clients, customers, regulators and other project stakeholders.Meet schedule performance and financial objectives by tracking and forecasting project progress and requirements.Prepare project submittals, work plans and reports.Ensure safe work practices for field crews.Verify technical quality of work.Manage subcontractors and teaming agreements.QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Required (Minimum) QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in: Engineering, environmental engineering, architecture, construction management, environmental construction management, or other related field.Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a Program Manager role, with a minimum of seven (7) years’ managing construction or environmental remediation/construction programs.Minimum of three (3) years’ DOD construction or environmental remediation/construction experience.Working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, standards and codes.Experience working on remote Alaska projectsCurrent professional registration (PE, PG, PMP)Previous experience working with the FUDS, Army , Air Force IRP, or other Federal agenciesKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other CharacteristicsKnowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage.Experience working on contaminated sites involving but not limited to environmental investigation and remediation projects. Ability to work in a wide variety of environments in remote Alaska at all times of the year including during winter weather conditionsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.In addition, the candidate should have the physical ability to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, climbing, stooping, bending, and routine lifting of up to 50 pounds.The ability to properly use personnel protective equipment (PPE) including the required use at all times of hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, and hearing protection.WORK ENVIRONMENTWork Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
