Job Description
The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) is a Washington, DC-based think tank that helps policymakers work across the aisle to craft bipartisan solutions. By connecting lawmakers, delivering data and context, negotiating policy details, and creating space for bipartisan collaboration, BPC ensures democracy can function on behalf of all Americans. BPC is currently seeking one or more team members to support activities for BPC’s Energy Program with a focus on carbon management. BPC’s Energy Program brings together political leaders and experts to produce reports and policy recommendations and works with stakeholders from other organizations to advance our policy objectives. The Senior Policy Analyst position is versatile, involving a variety of tasks, often simultaneously. A good candidate will be able to learn about new and evolving policy issues, interact with policy experts and political leaders, and lead stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities include:
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Conduct research on a range of energy and climate issues with a focus on a subset of the following topics: Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) including Direct Air Capture (DAC), Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage / Biomass with Carbon Removal and Storage (BiCRS/BECCS), Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW); point source carbon capture; transport, utilization, and storage of carbon dioxide; carbon markets; biomass; hydrogen and other clean fuels
- Primary responsibility for drafting major written work products, including white papers, reports, issue briefs, and fact sheets
- Lead research and drafting of blogs and other similar products
- Participate in and support engagement with stakeholders, senior fellows, project principals and BPC task force members
- Support energy project communications activities, including developing, reviewing, editing collateral, assisting with social media and other digital collateral
- Work with development team to draft grant proposals, grant reports, and support other donor management needs
QUALIFICATIONS for Senior Policy Analyst * Strong policy background with knowledge of the energy and climate landscape, key stakeholders, and technologies.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience OR relevant advanced degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience
- Excellent quantitative and research skills
- Excellent writing and verbal communications skills
- Strong team player with a collaborative spirit
- Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with often overlapping deadlines while maintaining a high degree of thoroughness and accuracy

Work Schedule The work/life balance of employees is a priority for the Bipartisan Policy Center. As a result, BPC is currently operating on a hybrid schedule. Employees at BPC are currently coming into the office three times a week. Exact time and schedules will be determined between an employee and their manager.
